This Fall, alongside the Rocky Mountain Casa, Craig-Scheckman Community Foundation, Northwest Colorado Community Health Partnership, Sk8 Church Steamboat and other local non-profit organizations, we are passionately excited to introduce you to a new community resource, Music With Vision.
Over the last few years the Yampa Valley has seen far too many tragic events related to substance abuse, addiction, and mental wellness. It is these tragedies that have spurred a region-wide initiative to not just intervene, but to heal the deeper causes of depression, suicide and opioid addiction.
Music is an active language that crosses boundaries, breaks down walls, and engages the human spirit in profound ways. It is this intimate language of music that we utilize to build bridges, make connections, and engage the heart in order to heal even the deepest wounds. Through our various music programs we offer resilience training that gives young people the tools they need to cope with and heal from Adverse Childhood Experiences ("ACE'S") so that they can live full, healthy lives.
To all the people who have pioneered this vision, we offer our deepest gratitude. For those of you who are hearing of this for the first time, we invite you to ask, engage, and share. Not just on an organizational level, but on a personal, heart level we invite you gain an awareness so that we might bring healing and restoration to the neediest places in our community.
If you have any questions or would like to be involved feel free to reach out personally, it takes a village.
